Samuel Bevier Sturtevant (1878-1960)

Samuel Bevier Sturtevant was born January 8, 1878 in Boulder, Boulder County, Coloradoto Joseph B. and Anna (Lyckman) Sturtevant. Lived in Boulder with his family until he went off to college around 1898. He studied the Pharmacy trade at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Hardin County, Ohio and graduated in 1902.

He moved back to Boulder and married Lotta Sara Peck June 15, 1902 at St John’s Episcopal. Just after they were married the newlyweds moved to Grand Junction where Samuel got work as a pharmacist. They lived in Grand Junction and Fruita until 1928 when they moved to Denver to take over the management responsibilities of the Kilbourne Apartments after Sam’s sister, Florence died. In addition the the apartment Sam worked at the Park Lane Pharmacy on the corner of Race and East Kentucky Avenues in Denver.

Sam and Lotta eventually moved to 215 Harrison Street in Denver where they remained until until their deaths. Sam passed away at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver on November 8, 1960 and was buried in the family plot in Columbia Cemetery in Boulder.
